About Dr. Eyes International Edition
This medical software has a 60 day trial period! Make sure to discover all the 5 great functions! To maximize this trial period, I suggest that you follow the instructions below:
For Consultants:
1. A consultant should have at least one desktop or laptop inside the clinic and is located at the secretary’'s table. Install the Dr.Eyes desktop companion in the said PC. Of course the Palm Desktop should be installed as well.
a. Every after you examine a patient, your secretary will then transfer the important details of what you have written from the index card to the Dr. Eyes desktop (ex. Chief Complain, Diagnosis, Medicines and your Fee) This will be just easy for her because she will be assisted with pop-ups to make it faster. You have to add new choices to the pop-up lists to match your practice.
b. At the end of the day, you will just do a hotsync and all that she has added in the PC will also be seen in your PDA. Imagine the advantages if you will be able to scan both your out-patient and in-patient details anywhere!
c. You may also automatically add up your total fees for the day in the desktop or the PDA in just a tap. Lots of busy doctors are victimized by inside job thefts due to not doing a daily check and balance.
d. Dr.Eyes also has a Charge Capture function that includes CPT codes and ICD codes. You may either do the billing codes in the desktop or the PDA.
Note: You may use the Dr.Eyes even without the desktop companion. The above set-up is just a suggestion.
2. To computerize your Prescriptions and Admitting Notes easily, do the following:
a. Place a Bluetooth adaptor dongle to your secretary’'s PC.
b. Using the Rx writer function of Dr.Eyes (eyeRxWriter) in your PDA, you may be able to make computerized prescriptions in just a few taps in your Palm device and send it via Bluetooth to your secretary’'s PC. To do that, just tap the EXPORT button and the Rx you made will be exported to the Memos Application. Open it at Memos and from there you may send it via Bluetooth. But make sure that the PC is set to RECEIVE A FILE mode before you send. Once the Rx is already received by the PC, your secretary will just open it via WordPad and just print it. It will be your option if you want the printer to be located inside your room or outside with the secretary. In my practice, the printer is outside, I will just explain my prescriptions while allowing them to view it in my PDA’'s screen in my room and after that, I’'ll just say: "The printed copy of your prescription is already outside with my secretary, she will read it again to you. " My patients are amazed and so happy with this!
c. Using the Admitting Notes writer function of the Dr. Eyes (eyeNotesWriter) in your PDA allows you be able to make computerized Admitting orders in just a few taps in your Palm device and send it also via Bluetooth to your secretary’'s PC for printing, just the same way in printing a prescription.
For Residents, Interns and Medical Students:
1. The patient tracking function (eyePatientFiles) of this software is what your looking for! From chief complain, P.E., history, progress notes, images, medicines and many more. Adding new records into it can be done through the PDA directly or through the desktop. Imagine the advantages of storing electronic files of the patients that are assigned to you. Retrieval of important information can easily be done, especially during rounds. You may also beam your patient list to your colleague during endorsement time.
2. The reference function of this software (eyeBrain) will be very helpful to you because this is where you will add your important medical formulas and notes that you may need to view from time to time. It is also beamable!
3. Computerize your prescriptions and admitting orders during your duties! You may do that by coordinating with a PC in the hospital’'s Outpatient Department or Wards. By placing a Bluetooth dongle to a nearby PC, you may be able to send Rx or Admitting Notes made from Dr.Eyes and then the clerk in front the PC will just print it for you (under WordPad). (Note: You may use any PC that has a bluetooth for the printing, no need to install the Desktop companion)
Some important reminders:
1. If you want to do a direct infrared print of your prescription or admitting notes from the PDA to a printer, you have to use a printer that has an infrared port like Canon iP90 or the HP portable printer. You also have to install the PalmPrint software.
2. To make this software totally functional to you, you have to spend a bit of your time in the start to add new words or phrases in the pop-up lists (ex. Your usual drugs in eyeRxPopup, your usual admitting order phrases in eyeOrderPhrases databases, etc).
3. This trial version is fully functional except that the synchronization is not yet on a two way flow. Meaning if you added new records in the desktop and the PDA at the same time, the desktop files may overwrite that what you had added in the PDA or vice-versa. But once you have registered this program, a TWO WAY CONDUIT DESKTOP SOFTWARE will also be given to you!
4. A PDF Manual is included in this download. It is divided into 5 chapters. One chapter for each of the 5 functions. I really suggest that you go through it as well. There will be some aspects of the program that needs you to be assisted by the manual.
"I use quite a few medical pda softwares for referencing, patient tracking, calculations, billings, etc. Switching from one software to another during consultation, particularly in my busy practice is time consuming and often distractful. Dr Eyes is the only software that enables me to accomplish most of my clinical and administrative tasks all together. This is a must-have for all Emergency Physicians, Family Physicians and indeed all practitioners who want to minimise medical errors and make the best of their limited practice time."
