About Small Talk (Windows Installer)
The world's first two-way real-time translator, Small Talk is a software application for Palm Powered Handhelds. More than just a phrase book or a dictionary, Small Talk allows you to engage in a real conversation with another person, even if you don't speak the same language.Using the familiar form of flash cards, Small Talk presents the user with full sentences, organized into intuitive categories such as Lodging, Transportation and Dining. Small Talk also allows the other person to respond by choosing from a list of likely responses to your question.
Simply tapping on a phrase instantly translates it into English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish. Nine Sections Small Talk provides an intuitive method of locating the phrase/conversation you want to initiate. Nine Sub-Sections Each section leads to a sub section with it's own set of icons. The transportation section offers these eight options. Choose a Phrase with One Tap Each area of Small Talk gives you a large number of options. Here once the Train icon has been selected you can scroll through the related phrases. Instant Translation The instant you choose a phrase you can read it or present it to the person you are conversing with. Notice how the "Respond" button is in the local language you are translating into so the person will know to tap it. Getting an Answer is Easy Answers can be made by selecting from a list of options, or using pickers to provide more detail. Here the person is able to enter the time of departure by simply taps to the screen. Get Your Answer Fast Once the person selects their answer you get the answer in your language. The back button lets you continue the conversation if you want. Sub Levels Make Navigation a Snap Here the Money/Shopping sub level is displayed. HotList Keeps History and Frequently Used Phrases With one tap you can see where you have been and common requests.
